Our Core Values

Our Core Values

Practices that shape the tone of our congregation.

Core values help a church stay recognizable over time. At Mount Hope, they remind us how we want to worship, serve, speak, and welcome one another.

Hospitality

We welcome people with warmth, patience, and attention, especially those taking first steps into church life.

Prayer

We bring worship, decision-making, grief, and service before God in prayer.

Discipleship

We expect faith to grow through learning, worship, accountability, and everyday obedience.

Compassion

We care for neighbors in practical ways and believe mercy belongs close to the center of congregational life.

Integrity

We aim for honesty, stewardship, and wisdom in leadership, ministry, and communication.

Community

We want people to belong to one another, not simply attend the same building.

Compassion and service become visible when members work shoulder to shoulder for others.

What those values look like in practice

These values shape how greeters welcome guests, how leaders make decisions, how classes teach Scripture, how care teams pray for families, and how volunteers show up for children, students, and neighbors in need.

Prayer and belonging keep core values from becoming empty slogans.

Why values matter

Churches often share similar beliefs, but values determine what daily life feels like. They influence the tone of worship, the patience of relationships, and the integrity of leadership. We want people to sense these values long before they learn every program name.
